It is used to reduce petroleum hydrocarbon, or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (oil/grease, diesel fuel, gasoline), loads in storm water runoff, particularly in urban watersheds, near parking lots/decks, highways, fueling stations, car wash facilities, marinas, and ports.
